What To Wear To A Wedding As A Photographer
If you’ve ever been stuck on what to wear to a wedding as the photographer, I’ve got you! Here are some links to some of my favorite outfits I’ve worn to weddings over the last few years.
If you’ve scrolled through Pinterest before to see what to wear as a wedding photographer to a wedding, you’ll find very quickly that most outfits feel out of touch or completely impractical for a wedding day. As a wedding photographer since 2018, I’ve found a couple of outfits that have been tried and true to work well for the heat, movements, and elements of a wedding day.
A Classic Jumpsuit
This photo is not my favorite for obvious reasons, but it shows off one of my favorite jumpsuits! This is a thicker, cotton jumpsuit that is high quality material from Sancho. This jumpsuit is no longer available on their website, but I have listed a dupe below.
Polka Dotted Jumpsuit
This material of this ASOS jumpsuit is a bit thinner a cheaper material, but it is a great one for Tennessee summers. The pockets do not hold as much, but if you pair it with a fanny pack, it does the trick! This jumpsuit is very, very oversizes, so order accordingly.
Colorful Pants
Colorful pants are a fun way for me to have a pop of color rather than doing the traditional vendor, all black attire. Pants are extremely helpful because the pockets are so much more durable than that of a jumpsuit. I can also clip my camera harness easier to a belt loop if I want to. These Everlane pants have been incredible to me! Pants are also easier for a fast bathroom stop if you need one.
Athleta Pants
Athleta pants are incredible to wear for a wedding day because they can be very professional but also breathable and friendly for sweat. When I ordered these pants, they had a paper-bag styled waistline pants options, but they no longer carry that style. Any pair of pants that are made for athletic purpose or even athleisure get a pass in my eyes!
Target Dresses
Target has been a great place for me to find dresses and jumpsuits for wedding days. This longer dress is the perfect length for weddings so that I can squat, bend-over, and move around without worrying of flashing anyone.
Last Note About Jumpsuits
This classic jumpsuit from Target, that is unfortunately no longer available, has been a staple for me. Jumpsuits are so great for weddings because they allow me to move around easily without worry of flashing someone. They are also breezy, which comes in handy for Tennessee hot, summer weddings. While jumpsuits are incredible for wedding photographers, they do get frustrating for quick bathroom stops. However, with some planning and timing, you can make it work! Here are some of my favorite jumpsuits as a wedding photographer:
